As my first foray into publishing illustration, I had to switch my approach to designing a composition that emphasized my graphic design skills rather than featuring faces or painting. I examined vintage Chinese matchboxes for design inspiration, settling on a style that felt authentically Chinese while juxtaposing the English type treatement.
